Lately, Ranbir Kapoor has been making more news for his rumoured break-up with Katrina Kaif than for the movies he featured in. However, on the sidelines of a recently-concluded event, he opened up on his equation with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the upcoming drama, "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil."

"Of course Aishwarya (Rai Bachchan) and I play each other's love interests in the film. It is a love triangle, in a way. I'm just glad that people have liked her pairing with me. And I am happy that apprehensions have now been put to rest," DNA quoted Kapoor as saying.

One wouldn't expect a junior actor to take a senior's name this casually, but then RK can take the liberty as he and the former beauty queen go way back. The charming actor was assisting his dad, Rishi Kapoor, on the sets of "Aa Ab Laut Chalen" and during this period, the stars bonded.

"It's a dream to work with Aishwarya. I was an assistant on the sets of my father's Aa Ab Laut Chalen (Ash starred in the film) and I was so enamoured by her — it wasn't just her looks — but because at the time, she levelled with me and acted like a friend," he further elaborated.

Clearly, the two have a freewheeling equation and they intend to keep it that way on as well as off-screen. A few months ago, there were reports that the leading lady had refused to go for a kissing scene with the Kapoor scion. Agreeing with the lady, director Karan Johar apparently said he would shoot the scene in question without a lip-lock.

She has done a kissing scene before ("Dhoom 2"), but now she believes such intimate scenes are better suited to young actors. Now, is her time to do substances roles, a source told leading daily.

Scheduled for Diwali 2016 release, the flick also features Anushka Sharma.
