Acer has launched two Android powered Smartphones, Acer Liquid E700 and Acer Liquid Jade, in India under the Liquid series. This is not the first time Acer is trying its luck in the most lucrative Smartphone market; the company had launched Android phones earlier but stopped production for some unknown reason. This time Acer has added some seriously sensible features to attract consumers.

Though Acer launched two phones with different target audience, here we will cover Acer Liquid E700, which is priced at Rs 11,999 and expected to compete closely with Xiaomi, Huawei, ASUS, Lenovo, Gionee and Microsoft phones in the same price range.

Connectivity

Opting for the right network is a major concern in countries like India, where a wide variety of network operators offer different tariffs. That is why a large number of consumers prefer a mobile phone with more than one SIM card so that they can choose the right viable option.

Though there are several budget Smartphones in the market offering dual SIMs, most of them offer a single slot with 3G connectivity. Happily, Acer is offering all three SIM card slots with 3G capability. People might question whether 3 SIM slots is just a gimmick but people are likely to need more slots in the future .

Hardware

The Android smartphone theory "Higher is always better" is applicable here as well. Acer Liquid E700 is powered by a 1.2GHz Quad-Core Mediatek MT6582 processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of in-built memory. The two close competitors of Liquid A700, Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G and XOLO Omega, feature 1.4GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 and 1.7GHz Octa-Core Mediatek processors. But in RAM specifications, only Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G stands equal with similar RAM capacity while both of them trail in the in-built storage specification by sporting only 8GB.

Battery

Acer Liquid A700 smartphone supports 3G, WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 along with a 3500 mAh battery. This battery size is good enough for a 5-inch 720p with 294ppi display. Acer has also acted clever by choosing a not-so-high range processor. This decision might result in a slight lag but a marathon battery life in a budget price is a serious requirement of users.

With a claimed battery life of 1440 hours of standby time and 24 hours of talk time, A700 might create a huge fan following for this single reason.

Selfie

The Acer Liquid A700 features an 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera, while its biggest competitor, Xiaomi Redmi Note, features a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera. But the A700 has one clever feature which others don't; a LED flash on the front. The front LED flash may help users take selfies in the dark, an area where several flagship smartphone fall short.

Price & Availability

Built on Android Kitkat 4.4 platform, the Acer Liquid A700 is available in India for Rs. 11,999 through one of the biggest e-retailers of India, Snapdeal. Manufacturers like Xiaomi, OnePlus, ASUS and Huawei have all had a good run by launching their products through e-retailers. And following the same trick Acer has tied up with one of the biggest e-commerce provider Snapdeal for its marketing.
