Two giants of Italian club football, AC Milan and Lazio, clash swords for the first time in the Serie A 2016-17 season on Tuesday at Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milan. Lazio are fourth on the points table after four games, while Milan are at tenth.

Both teams are coming into the game at the back of a win each, but it is Milan who have to better things now as they have seen two consecutive defeats. Lazio, on the other hand, have only one defeat this season.

"Italian league is very hard. Now I don't want to think at where we are in the table. It's better if we focus on how the team is performing and on our improvement," said AC Milan coach Vincenzo Montella ahead of the game. "Six points in four matches are more or less what we were expecting. We are though disappointed we lost against Udinese [0-1 at home]," he added.

For the home side, Columbian forward Carlos Bacca is expected to shine once again. The 30-year-old has four goals already in the Serie A this season. "Bacca's goals speak for him. Against Sampdoria [in the previous game] he played really well, he came on with the right attitude," Montella said.

Expected starting XI

AC Milan: Donnarumma, Abate, Paletta, Romagnoli, Calabria, Sosa, Montolivo, Bonaventura, Suso, Bacca and Niang

Lazio: Marchetti, Bastos, de Vrij, Radu, Anderson, Parolo, Cataldi, Milinkovic-Savic, Lulic, Djordjevic and Immobile

Schedule

Milan vs Lazio is scheduled to kick off at 7.45 pm BST (12.15 am IST [Wednesday], 2.45 pm EST) on 20 September.
