Remo D'Souza's directorial film "ABCD 2" (Any Body Can Dance 2) did phenomenal business on Monday at the box office. Despite hitting screens on a working day, the film had a superb run and is now looking forward to surpass the first week box office collection of "Tanu Weds Manu Returns".

The film also crossed the ₹50 crore mark at the domestic box office after its fourth day theatrical run in India. The four days box office collection of "ABCD 2" stands at ₹54.40 crore.

If it continues its strong pace in the coming days, "ABCD 2" would record the highest opening week box office collection. As of now, "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" holds the 2015 highest opening week grosser title with ₹70.02 crore.

"#ABCD2 continues its GLORIOUS march. Does heroic biz on crucial Monday. All set to challenge #TWMReturns *Week 1* total [₹ 70.02 cr]," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

"#ABCD2 is on a RECORD-SMASHING spree. Fri 14.30 cr, Sat 14.54 cr, Sun 17.51 cr, Mon 8.05 cr. Total: ₹ 54.40 cr. India biz. OUTSTANDING!" Adarsh added.

The dance film starring Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor and Prabhu Deva in the lead roles was released in approximately 2015 screens in India. Despite lesser screen count compared to major films, including "Gabbar Is Back" and "Roy", the film has excelled in its collection.

According to trade analysts, Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor starrer is getting good response from all the sectors across India.

"'ABCD 2' is a surefire hit. It's a visual delight. Opening of 'ABCD 2' outstanding from Bombay circuit to Bihar circuit, sure sign that it is unstoppable. With this, Varun joins league of top stars," box office analyst Komal Nahta told IANS.

The film is also set to take its gross box office worldwide income to more than ₹100 crore even before finishing its first week.

Directed by Remo D'Souza, the film is a sequel to 2013 film "ABCD: Any Body Can Dance" and features Dharmesh Yelande, Lauren Gottlieb, Raghav Juyal, Tisca Chopra and Punit Pathak among others.
