Much comparison has been made between Aamir Khan's Dangal and Salman Khan's Sultan as both the movies are based on the same sport of wrestling. While Sultan holds the title of highest grossing Bollywood movie of 2016, fans think Dangal will beat the Salman starrer at the box office.
The trailer of Dangal was released sometime back and it had received positive response from the audience. However, a section of viewers had pointed out some similarities between Aamir's upcoming film and Sultan.
Many of them had said that Dangal is just a little modified version of Sultan but many others had opined that the Aamir-starrer would beat all records of Salman's movie. International Business Times, India conducted a poll asking fans whether Dangal will beat Sultan's box office collection.
The poll result is out and Aamir's film has won it by a big margin - 71.43 percent of the voters have said that Dangal will break the box office record of Sultan. Only 15.71 percent of the respondents have voted in favour of Salman-starrer and 12.86 percent of them are not sure.
With a lifetime collection of Rs 300.47 crore at the Indian box office, Sultan is the highest grossing Hindi film of 2016 and the third biggest blockbuster of all time, after PK and Bajrangi Bhaijaan.
The movie Dangal is a biopic on the lives of veteran wrestler Mahaveer Singh Phogat and his two daughters Babita Kumari and Geeta Phogat. Aamir underwent tremendous physical transformation for his role in the movie that has been seen in the trailer as well.
The film features debutantes Fatima Sana Shaikh as Geeta Phogat and Sanya Malhotra as Babita Kumari. It also has Sakshi Tanwar as Aamir's onscreen wife. Dangal is slated to be released on December 23.
