Aamir Khan's '3 Idiots' sequel script ready; to go on floors after Sanjay Dutt biopic

Sequel of Aamir Khan-starrer "3 Idiots" is apparently not very far as the script for the movie has reportedly been finalised. Director Rajkumar Hirani and writer Abhijat Joshi have finalised the script of "3 Idiots" sequel, the Times of India reported.

The report also said that the film will go on the floors after Rajkumar completes shooting for the upcoming biopic on Sanjay Dutt. Ranbir Kapoor will play the role of Sanjay in the biopic.

Earlier, the director had confirmed that he had an idea for "3 Idiots" sequel. Sharman Joshi and R Madhavan, who were part of "3 Idiots," had also said that they will be a part of the cast of the sequel too.

"Initially, I had plans to make 'PK 2,' but we don't have any subject for the film. As far as '3 Idiots' sequel is concerned, Abhijat Joshi and I have an idea, but we are yet to develop it. The film will take some time," Catch News had quoted Rajkumar as saying earlier.

"Yes, Rajkumar Hirani has told me that he has an idea that he is working on for the sequel of '3 Idiots.' I am just waiting for all the things to fall into place so we can start working on it soon," Sharman had told Bollywoodlife earlier.

Madhavan had also confirmed that the lead cast of the sequel will be the same comprising Aamir, Sharman and Madhavan. "Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi have a concept ready for the '3 Idiots' sequel, but there has not been any progress in it. Whenever it happens, I will be a part of it," Catch News had quoted Madhavan.
