Superstar Aamir Khan turns 51 March 14 this year. The actor is also set to appear in much-awaited film "Dangal" and fans are excited to see him on the big screen as Aamir didn't have any release last year.

Mr Perfectionist has given his 30 years to the film industry and still continues to serve. From "Ghajini" to "3 Idiots" to "PK," Aamir's most of the films were the highest grossers of those seasons. A few people may know that he made his Bollywood debut as a child artiste in his uncle Nasir Hussain's film "Yaadon Ki Baaraat" (1973).

Aamir was last seen on the silver screen in Rajkumar Hirani directorial "PK," which had landed in several controversies, but the story and his performance pulled itself out of all negative reviews.

Apart from delivering such good performances, Aamir has also rejected a few good films in the past. Take a look here:

"Hum Aapke Hai Koun"

Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit starrer "Hum Aapke Hai Koun" is a cult film. Before Salman, it was offered to Aamir, but the actor turned it down. He reportedly didn't find the script appealing.

"Darr"

Shah Rukh Khan's one of the best films "Darr" was first offered to Aamir. But the "3 Idiots" actor didn't want to do a negative role and recommended SRK.

"Swades"

Ashutosh Gowariker and Aamir became good friends during the shooting of "Lagaan." The ace filmmaker proposed movie offer of "Swades" to Aamir later, but it seems the story didn't impress the "Stayamev Jayate" host.

"Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge"

One of the most romantic films "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" was offered to Aamir, but the actor refused to do it. Later, it went to the Baadshah Shah Rukh Khan. At the same time, Aamir's "Rangeela" was also released and seeing SRK taking away all the awards irked the "Dangal" actor. It is believed that this is the reason why Aamir stopped attending award functions.

"Nayak The Real Hero"

Aamir was offered the leading role of Shivaji Rao in "Nayak The Real Hero" as well, but he turned it down. Eventually the film went to Anil Kapoor, and the film went on to be a huge success at the box office.
