Aamir Khan, who has been training hard for his upcoming film "Dangal", has suffered an injury while shooting for it on Saturday.

Aamir suffered from muscle spasms in his back and thighs and has been advised complete bed rest for two days.

"Aamir just got a muscle spasm while shooting, but now he is doing absolutely fine. He is resting as of now and will resume shooting soon," The Indian Express quoted the executive producer of "Dangal" as saying.

The report also said Aamir's injury is due to his intense workout and practice sessions of wrestling for the film. As soon as Aamir informed the crew about the pain in his back and thighs, the actor was immediately rushed for a medical check-up and the day's shoot cancelled.

"The actor complained of sudden intense pain in his thighs, most probably due to the strain he is taking for practising wrestling moves. The shoot in the village of Gujjarwal was cancelled for the day immediately and he was taken for a medical check up. However, everything is fine and it was not a major injury. The shoot will resume soon," the report quoted a source as saying.

The "Dangal" team is currently in Ludhiana for its shooting, and Aamir's personal trainer, Rahul Bhatt, is taking care of the actor's diet and workout schedule.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, "Dangal" will have Aamir playing the character of wrestler Mahavir Phogat. The film is slated for release in December next year.
