Many of us are unaware of the fact that most of our superstars have never dreamt of becoming renowned actors to make a career in this field and that it just happened to them.

Here is a list of some of those stars who accidentally joined the film industry.

Shah Rukh Khan

Though the Baadshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, was into theatres, the star always wanted to become a sportsperson. But destiny had some other plans for him and he landed up becoming the King Khan as we know today.

Aamir Khan

"PK" actor Aamir Khan was more into directing films than acting. But after working in "Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak", he gained appreciation and popularity overnight.

Rajinikanth

The legendary South superstar Rajinikanth, whose real name is Shivaji Rao Gaikwad, was a bus conductor and before that he used to work as a coolie. India would not have got such a great actor, if filmmaker K Balachander had failed to recognise his talent.

Parineeti Chopra

Parineeti Chopra returned to India after obtaining triple honours degree from Manchester Business School due to 2009 economic recession. Her dream was to get into investment banking, but then she joined Yash Raj Films as a public relation consultant, after which she turned into acting under the same banner.

Kareena Kapoor Khan

Kareena Kapoor Khan always wanted to be a lawyer, but acting is in the genes of the Kapoor family and not a single member can escape from it. Thus she had to drop her dreams and stepped into the glamour industry.

Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan, son of the legendary cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, never dreamt of working in films. He wanted to play cricket like his father, but destiny guided him to his mother and legendary actress, Sharmila Tagore's path.

Akshay Kumar

The "Khiladi" star was a black-belt champion in Taekwondo and studied martial arts in Bangkok. Akshay Kumar was actually a chef as well as a waiter before one of his students recommended him into modelling, which eventually led him to acting.

Sonam Kapoor

Sonam Kapoor used to be assistant director to Sanjay Leela Bhansali. But the fashionista got diverted to acting and got her first break in the same director's film, "Saawariya".
