Indian smartphone maker Micromax released its flagship A116 Canvas HD smartphone to cash in on Valentine's day, while its counterpart Xolo - a subsidiary of Lava Mobiles - released its' A1000 smartphone on Friday.

Micromax is one of the fastest growing Indian handset manufacturers in the world in terms of volume of shipments, whereas Lava is still an emerging enterprise. But, does Lava's latest smartphone Xolo A1000 have enough tricks in its bag to outperform Micromax's A116 Canvas HD?

Here is a breakdown of comparison between the Micromax A116 Canvas HD and Xolo A1000:

Remark:

In terms of processing speed, Micromax's quad-core processor wins hands down against Lava's dual-core processor. But considering other aspects, both smartphones have similar configuration for RAM, memory capacity, battery capacity, etc.

One very important positive aspect we can notice is that the both the Indian firms have rised their benchmark to give a stiff challenge to MNC Samsung's Galaxy Grand. Apart from boasting an updated Jelly Bean OS (Android v4.1.2), Galaxy Grand does not have much to brag about.

With a low price tag and superior specs, Xolo A1000 and A116 canvas HD make a smart buy in a price sensitive market like India.
