The prestigious Filmfare (South) Award show concluded on a grand note at Hotel Novotel Hyderabad Convention Centre on Saturday, June 18. It honoured the best performers in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada film industries. The star-studded event, which began at 6 p.m. honoured the best performers in 12 categories — best film, director, actor, actress, supporting actor, supporting actress, debut actress, special jury best actor, music, lyrics, male singer and female singer.

In the Malayalam category of awards, Prithviraj Sukumaran's "Ennu Ninte Moideen" bagged as many as seven awards. Mammootty won the best actor award for his performance in "Pathemari," while Parvathy received the best actress award for "Ennu Ninte Moideen." 

Mammootty's "Pathemari" has been selected as the best movie of the year after competing with Prithviraj Sukumaran's "Ennu Ninte Moideen," "Anarkali," Dulquer Salmaan's "Charlie" and Nivin Pauly's "Premam." Director RS Vimal walked away with best director award for his debut directorial venture "Ennu Ninte Moideen." Sai Pallavi aka Malar of "Premam" has been selected as the best debut actress. Jayasurya and Amala Paul received the special jury best actor awards for their notable performances in "Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam" and "Mili," respectively. Tovino Thomas and Lena won the best supporting actor awards for their performance in the RS Vimal-directed movie.

Among the music categories, M Jayachandran and Rafeeq Ahamed won the best music director and best lyricist awards for the songs in "Ennu Ninte Moideen." Vijay Yesudas and Shreya Ghoshal have been selected as best singers for the songs "Malare" from "Premam" and "Kathirunnu" from "Ennu Ninte Moideen," respectively.

The 63rd Filmfare (South) event also saw the performances of Rima Kallingal, Amy Jackson, Amulya, Aparna Vinod, Hari Prriya and Pranitha, among many others.
