Renowned Kannada journalist and activist Gauri Lankesh was shot dead outside her residence in Bengaluru on Tuesday night.

An outspoken critic of hindutva politics, she was the editor of Kannada tabloid Gauri Lankesh Patrike, besides owning some other publications.
