Gonda, Barabanki, Aug 21 (ANI): Floods triggered by heavy rainfall have inundated 30 villages in Uttar Pradesh, rendering at least 24,000 people homeless, said a senior official. Thousands were marooned in villages across nine districts of Uttar Pradesh, where the release of water from overflowing dams in neighbouring Nepal has added to the impact of the downpours. Meanwhile, the Sub divisional Magistrate of Gonda district, Jagdeesh Singh said that situation was under control and rescue operations were underway. However, distressed locals of the area expressed their disappointment over State government’s inaction.
