Maruti Suzuki will launch the new version of Swift Dzire in India on May 16, Tuesday. The bookings for the new Dzire are open across 2,000 dealerships of the company in the country and Maruti has also dispatched the first lot of the new 2017 Dzire to its showrooms across the country.

A lot has already been talked about the new 2017 Dzire and the only thing that has been glossed over is its price tag.

Engine

There is no change in powertrains. The 85bhp 1.2-litre petrol and the 75bhp 1.3-litre diesel mill will continue as it is and five-speed manual and AMT box will handle the transmission. While the petrol variants of the new Dzire are expected to clock a mileage figure of 22kmpl, the diesel models are expected to give 28.4kmpl.

Dimensions and designs

The New Dzire, which is based on the company's new HEARTECT platform and is 105 kg lighter than its previous version and is wider by 40mm and comes with a 20mm longer wheelbase. It offers a boot space of 60-litres and the ground clearance has been reduced by 7mm. The Dzire in its new avatar gets flowy design and has new front fascia with large grille, sweptback projector headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights and new bumper. The new Dzire will offer newly designed alloy wheels.

Features

While the top-end variants of the new Dzire are expected to get features such as updated touchscreen infotainment system with USB/Aux/Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay connectivity, the other trims is likely to see the addition of the rear AC vents and new steering wheel with mounted controls.

Colours and variants

The Dzire will come in six colour options-- Oxford Blue, Sherwood Brown, Gallant Red, Magma Grey, Silky Silver and Arctic White and it will be offered in Lxi/Ldi, Vxi/Vdi, Zxi/Zdi and Zxi+/Zdi+ variants.

Competition and prices

Maruti Suzuki Dzire will continue to rival Ford Aspire, Volkswagen Ameo, Tata Tigor and new Hyundai Xcent in its segment. The new Dzire is expected to get price tag of Rs. 50,000 – Rs. 80, 000 higher than the current Swift Dzire range.
