It looks like the launch of new Toyota 2016 Fortuner in India has almost been confirmed as the emerging reports on the web suggest that the new avatar of the SUV is likely to reach the shores only by the end of 2016.
A report of Zigwheels reveals that new 2015 Fortuner, which will also be made at Toyota's facility in Bangalore, is getting ready to be launched in 2016. Although it is not clear as to how much of the new Fortuner will be produced locally at the plant, the company is said to be in talks with vendors regarding the same.
Toyota launched its new Fortuner in the international market earlier this year with the new 2.8-litre diesel motor, which can churn out 174.3 bhp and peak torque of 450 Nm when coupled to a 6-Speed automatic transmission and 420 Nm when paired to a 6-Speed manual gearbox. The SUV boasts a new design and has a fuel tank capacity of 80 litres.
When launched in India, Toyota new Fortuner will rival Chevrolet's Trailblazer, upcoming 2016 Ford Endeavour and new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
