In what could be a disappointment to Honda's performance motorcycle enthusiasts, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI ) is reportedly not keen on bringing the 2016 CBR150R to India. Additionally, it also does not plan to launch any new performance products in the mid-size segment, which is till 500cc.

In an interview with Bikeadvise, Senior Vice President of HMSI, YS Guleria confirmed that they have no plans of introducing the new CBR250R and also quashed the possibility of CBR300R arriving in India anytime soon.

Keita Muramatsu, President and Chief Executive at Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) on Dec.14 said that the company will roll out the refreshed models of its existing product line-up in the country next year and will launch one product every month. The concentration of HMSI for 2016 is reportedly on more volume fetching products. This is a big letdown for the biking fraternity as there were a lot of expectations on the arrival of new models from HMSI.

Honda launched the CBR250R in India in March 2011 and CBR150 in 2012. Almost four years down the line, there weren't any updates for the motorcycle until last November when an update was launched with just new colour schemes and stickers. The CBR300R was also expected soon in India as the CBR250R has been replaced by CBR300R from 2013 in many global markets.

The 2016 CBR150R launched in Indonesia on Feb.15 is visually different from the previous-generation CBR150R currently on sale in India. The new motorcycle features full LED headlamp unit, digital LCD instrument cluster and a new exhaust system.
