German luxury carmaker BMW's new chief executive officer, Harald Krueger collapsed on stage during a presentation at the 2015 Frankfurt International Motor Show.

Kruger, 49, was later escorted offstage by two assistants and he is said to be 'stable and recovering well' now.

This was Krueger's first appearance at the biennial trade event after he took charge as CEO in May. The press round-table briefing was later taken over by Chief Financial Officer Friedrich Eichiner in the absence of Krueger.

"Harald Krueger experienced a moment of dizziness. As a result, the press conference was cancelled in order that Mr Krueger could be examined by a doctor. Mr Krueger's health is stable and he is recovering well," Reuters quoted BMW.
