Though FIFA men's World Cup is one of the most anticipated events in the world of sports, women's World Cup is also gradually holding its own. There may not be much hype before the event, but make no mistake, the quality at the offing in the competition is expected to be world class this time around as well.

The 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup is scheduled to start on 6 June and end on 5 July 2015 in Canada, with China and Canada playing the first game on Saturday.

The seventh edition of the women's World Cup will witness top 24 teams from around the world. The quadrennial tournament comprised 16 teams in 2011. The FIFA Women's World Cup has been earning a big name in every edition and it can only get better from here.

Countries such as Germany and the US might be considered favourites, but there are several other teams like France, Brazil, Sweden, who could go all the way in the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup.
