Czech automaker Skoda on Thursday launched its new Rapid facelift in India with the price tag of ₹7.22 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Launched in four trims in both manual and automatic-Active, Ambition, Ambition Plus and Elegance, the new Skoda Rapid facelift is almost the same like the existing model in terms of style and design.
The highlight of the new avatar is its 1.5-litre TDI diesel engine, the downsized version of the 1.6-litre engine, which we have seen in the new Polo.
The new diesel engine has the capacity to churn out 105 PS of power and 250 Nm of peak torque and most importantly, it comes mated to a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission.
The petrol variant of the new Rapid continues to get power from the same 1.6 litre MPI petrol engine, which is tuned to belt out 105 PS of power and 153 Nm of torque, synchronised to a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox.
Skoda is also offering a new accessory package called the Black Package with an additional payment of ₹20,000. It includes black alloy wheels, black front grille, blackened fog lamps and headlamps.
