Bookings for 2014 Maruti Suzuki Swift facelift have commenced in India, which is speculated to go on sale in the country by the end of October.

A new report of Indianautos blog says that the dealers of Maruti have started accepting bookings for the upcoming hatchback with a token amount of ₹10,000. The report further adds that the first lot of new Swift facelift is expected to arrive at the dealerships in coming days and the delivery is likely to begin in early November.

Auto enthusiasts in the country will have a fairly good idea of what to expect from the arrival of the new Swift, which is India's favourites hatch. The Swift facelift is unlikely to adapt any change in its engine specifications although some reports suggest that there could be change in the power output. For now, Swift facelift will continue to draw power from the same 1.2-litre petrol and the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engines.

Expected to get a price tag in the range of ₹4.5- ₹7 lakh, the new Swift facelift will take on the likes of Hyundai Elite i20, 2014 Volkswagen Polo, Fiat Punto EVO and Tata Bolt.

The upcoming car is likely to get a new front fascia design with bigger air dam and new headlights. The middle and high end variant of the upcoming Swift facelift is likely to get LED Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and the car is also expected to feature a new front bumper.

Safety features like Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and front and side airbags will also be featured in the new Swift along with reverse parking sensor, electrically adjustable ORVMs, keyless entry-and-go and fresh alloy wheels.
