Popular SUV maker Mahindra launched its new Scorpio facelift in Nepal with prices starting at 3.57 million NPR. The SUV reached Nepal through Agni Incorporated Pvt Ltd, the sole distributor of Mahindra products in the country.
Scorpio facelift, the latest in the Scorpio line–up is offered in three trims in Nepal -- S2, S4, and S10 -- and is available in five body colours -- diamond white, fiery black, mist silver, new molten red and regal blue. In Nepal, the engine line-up of Scorpio SUV includes only 2.2l mHawk diesel engine, which can churn out 120bhp @ 4,000 rpm and 280Nm @ 1,800 to 2,800 rpm.
The five speed manual gearbox does the transmission duty on the new Scorpio. In India the new Scorpio is sold with two engines -- the powerful 2.2l mHawk diesel engine and the less powerful 2.5l m2DiCr diesel engine. The latter one is not available in Nepal.
Built on hydroformed ladder-frame chassis, the facelifted Scorpio gets new dual projector headlamps and new grille along with the LED taillights. The feature list of Scorpio facelift includes touchscreen infotainment system, GPS navigation, driver information through infotainment system, automatic climate control, rain and lights sensors, parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system and electrically adjustable ORVM. In terms of dimensions, the SUV measures 4456 mm in length, 1820 mm in width ,1930 mm in height and sits on a wheelbase of 2680 mm.
In Nepal, Scorpio gets comparatively high price tag due to the high import duty levied in the country. The same SUV is offered at starting price of ₹7.98 lakh in India (ex-showroom Mumbai).
