German carmaker BMW is all set to roll out its 3rd-generation BMW X5 in India.

The car codenamed F15 will hit domestic market on 29 May and if recent reports are to be believed, then the deliveries will commence in early June.

2014 BMW X5, a car powered by 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine will be offered with MW's iDrive system and will come mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The car will be offered in both five-seater and seven-seater and other engine option might follow soon.

The BMW X5 which first made its debut in the country at the 2014 Delhi Auto Expo will be brought to India as Completely Knocked Down (CKD) units and then will be assembled at BMW Haryana facility, as reported by Overdrive. The dealerships across the country have started accepting bookings for the BMW's new offering India with an advance payment of ₹5 lakh. The upcoming SUV is likely to take on the like of Audi Q7 and the Mercedes Benz GL-Class and is expected to fall in the price range of ₹65 lakh.

Recently, BMW M6 Gran Coupé made its India debut with a price tag of ₹1.75 crore (ex-showroom, Delhi). The petrol-powered performance oriented four door coupe is based on M5 sedan platform and comes with two twin-scroll turbo 4.4-litre V8 engine, which can churn out a power of 560PS between 6,000 to 7,000 rpm and a peak torque of 680 Nm at 1,500 - 5,750 rpm. The engine is mated to 7-speed dual clutch gearbox and can accelerate 0 - 100kmph in 4.2 seconds.

The car offers four power modes - Eco Pro, Comfort, Sport and the Sport+ and comes bundled with safety features like front and side airbags for both the driver and passenger, ABS, EBD, CBC (Cornering Brake Control) and DSC (Dynamic Stability Control).
