"PK" actress Anushka Sharma has scaled new heights in her career within a short span. Now, she is set to venture into film production.
The diva is in the A-List of Bollywood filmmakers and also in demand down south. But few people know that the discerning actress rejected many film offers made by South Indian filmmakers.
Here are the films that Anushka turned down:
The "Band Baaja Baraat" actress was offered Imtiaz Ali's "Tamasha" but she rejected it. There were speculations that she didn't want to work in the film because the director had once rejected her. Whatever the reason, turning down a successful film maker's offer seemed not so wise. "Tamasha" now stars ex-love birds Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.
Though people know that Alia Bhatt was the best choice for "2 States", she was not the first choice of Karan Johar. The producer-director initially offered the role to Anushka but she didn't accept it. Again, she turned down an ace film maker's offer.
Currently, Anushka will be seen in Zoya Akhtar's upcoming "Dil Dhadakne Do" with Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar. But when Zoya's brother and Anushka's co-star Farhan offered his next film, the actress rejected it. There were reports that Sidharth Malhotra is cast in the film and after Sharma's rejection, the offer went to Katrina Kaif.
Sharma was also offered big Telugu films but her high price demand was too much for the producers.
The "PK" actress turned down the proposal of working with Allu Arjun's upcoming film, which will be Harish Shankar's directorial. "The filmmakers approached the actress, but things did not work out as there was an issue with the price and dates," Filmibeat quoted a member from the film's cast crew as saying.
Anushka has also rejected Mahesh Babu's "Aagadu" and Junior NTR's next film for the same reason.
