Rajinikanth suffered a knee injury a few days ago on the sets of his upcoming movie 2.0, which is also known as Enthiran 2. The incident occurred while he was filming an action sequence. The actor was immediately taken to a nearby hospital.

"Rajinikanth fell while filming a crucial scene and hurt one of his knees. He was taken to Chettinad hospital where the superstar underwent treatment for about half an hour. Later, he returned home," a source from the film's unit told IANS. The star is now said to be fine.

The shooting of 2.0 is taking place at a brisk pace in Chennai. The filming is expected to be wrapped up in January 2017. However, Rajinikanth might take a break from the shooting until he recovers completely, and this might delay the completion of the film.

Meanwhile, the budget of 2.0 has been increased to a massive Rs 400 crore. The makers had earlier projected it to be Rs 350 crore. It will be the biggest-ever film made in India in terms of budget.

The movie is being made in multiple languages, since that would help the film recover its investment and make profits. Reports say that the film will be out on the occasion of Deepavali next year. It will come out simultaneously in many languages, including Japanese.

2.0 is a science fiction film, in which Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar play the lead roles. Amy Jackson will be seen as the female protagonist in the film, which stars Sudhanshu Pandey, Adil Hussain, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Maya Krishnan and others in supporting roles.

The Shankar-directed movie is being funded by Lyca Productions.
