A paramilitary personnel was killed and six other people were injured in a grenade explosion  in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, police said.

Assistant Sub-Inspector Shamsher Singh of the 186 battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force was killed, and three paramilitary troopers, two policemen and a civilian were injured when guerrillas hurled a grenade at a CRPF patrol party in Pahoo village.

The injured were taken to hospital for treatment, a police officer told IANS.
