'The Voice' Season 5: Final Recap, Does Tessanne Chin Deserve Title?

"The Voice" season 5 ended on Tuesday with Tessanne Chin winning the title after stiff competition from fellow contestants over the last few weeks. Team Christina's teenage girl Lee came second, and Champlin third.

The finale of the reality television show on Tuesday witnessed performances from several artists, including the contestants of this season. Chin joined James, Preston Pohl, Olivia Henken and Grey sang Sam and Dave's "Hold On, I'm Comin", before Lee performed Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" with Matthew  Schuler, Caroline Pannell, Cole Vosbury and James Wolpert.

The Champlin, the other finalist of the show, performed Darius Rucker's "Wagon Wheel" with Caroline, Cole, Jonny Gray and Austin Jenckes.

Then it was time for the finalists to hit the stage with some of the biggest names in the music industry. Celine Dion performed "Love Can Move Mountains" with Tessanne, before Jacquie hit the stage with Paramore for "Ain't It Fun", and Will sang the song "Wake Me Up" with Aloe Blacc.

That was not all. Celine Dion and Ne-Yo performed "Incredible" together while OneRepublic performed "I Lived". Then, Lady Gaga added some spice by singing "Do What U Want".

Bringing nostalgic feelings to the show, the top 20 of this season returned to the stage, singing Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody," and Bruno Mars' "Treasure," and Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You."

When it was time to announce the winner of the show, there was silence. Then host Carson Daly announced Tessanne as the winner. The Jamaican singer shed tears of joy and hugged her fellow contestants, her coach and family members. She sang "Tumbling Down," an original song written by Ryan Tedder, after winning the title.

Well, it was like just a matter of time before Tessanne was announced winner. Her performance in the last couple of weeks, especially her semi-finals rendition, somehow gave the hint that she deserved it.

If her rendition of "Redemption Song" in the quarterfinals was good, "Bridge Over Troubled Water" took her to the next level. She didn't stop at that. She was bold enough to sing Whitney Houston's "I Have Nothing" on Monday and nailed it.

Lee and Champlin were, no doubt, talented singers but Chin's voice was more matured, and above all she knows how to mix emotion and pitch into the singing. She deserved it!
