Update: There is an official announcement on Ajith's "Thala 55"; Find out HERE

According to latest buzz, actors Arun Vijay and Arvind Swamy might be playing villains in Ajith-Gautham Menon project.

The film is one of the most-awaited projects of 2014 and ever since the film was announced, there have been a lot of speculations about it.

Now, buzz is that Arun Vijay, son of veteran actor Vijayakumar, and Arvind Swamy are going to play antagonist roles in "Thala 55" (tentatively titled).

If the rumours turn out to be true, it would be the first time that both the actors would be doing negative roles. Vijay has starred in several films as the main lead hero and is currently working on a project titled "Vaa Deal." On the other hand, Swamy made his comeback to films with Maniratnam's "Kadal."

It will be interesting to see these two actors donning the role of baddies in Ajith's film.

Earlier, there were speculations that Ajith will be appearing in dual roles, as the hero and as the villain in "Thala 55," which is still not ruled out.

Rumours are rife that Ajith will be playing an investigative officer in the Gautham directorial.

It seems Anushka Shetty has been roped in as the female lead opposite Ajith, while Amy Jackson of "Madarasapattinam" fame is being considered for a pivotal role. Harrish Jayaraj has reportedly been approached to work on the film's soundtracks. It is also being speculated that cinematographer S.R. Kathir might be the DOP for "Thala 55."

Recently, there was a buzz that Gautham will be donning a role in the film. However, the director refuted the rumours and clarified that he is not playing any role in the Ajith starrer.

Besides Gautham, it was speculated that Karate expert Shihan Hussaini will be doing an important role in "Thala 55." But, Hussaini confirmed that he was not approached to act in the film.
