Bollywood film "Shuddh Desi Romance" has witnessed a rise in its collections on its second day at the Indian box office. The film is garnering audiences' attention because of its bold theme.

Directed by Maneesh Sharma, the film raked in approximately ₹7.90 crore on Saturday.

"#ShuddhDesiRomance continues to climb the ladder of success... Fri 6.45 cr, Sat 7.90 cr. Total: ₹14.35 cr on 1050 screens. Excellent!" trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted.

The film registered good occupancy of around 80-85 percent in theatres on Saturday. The film is doing well in circuits like Rajasthan, Delhi, NCR, Mumbai, and UP.

The flick starring Parineeti Chopra, Sushant Singh Rajput and Vaani Kapoor in lead roles was released in just 1,050 screens. But in several circuits, theatres owners gave preference to "Shuddh Desi Romance" over "Zanjeer", which was released on the same date.

The first day collections of "Shuddh Desi Romance" was almost double than Hindi version of "Zanjeer". And on Saturday, "Shuddh Desi Romance" collections were more than double than the earnings of the Priyanka Chopra-Ram Charan Teja starrer.

The two-day domestic total of "Shuddh Desi Romance" stands at ₹14.35 crore, while "Zanjeer" stands at ₹6.47 crore.

The film is expected to earn around ₹9 crore - ₹10 crore on Sunday and take the opening weekend total to more than ₹23 crore. Made on a budget of around ₹25 - ₹30 crore, the film is expected to earn the production cost before finishing its first-week run at the domestic box office.
