Bollywood's latest release "Satyagaraha" is registering good numbers during weekdays. The Prakash Jha political thriller, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Ajay Devgn, has raked in ₹4.11 crore on Tuesday.

The film made on budget of ₹75 crore has taken the five-day domestic total to ₹48.30 crore. If it remains unaffected with the release of upcoming films, then "Satyagraha" should earn the production cost within the second week itself.

"#Satyagraha Fri 11.21 cr, Sat 13.08 cr, Sun 14.83 cr, Mon 5.07 cr, Tue 4.11 cr. Total: ₹48.30 cr nett," trade analyst Taran Adarsh said.

However, some trade analysts feel that the film might not even earn the production cost from Indian markets. "Satyagraha" is a hardcore commercial film based on a fight between the middle-class population and the corrupt government. The film caters to a limited audience and does not have a repeat value to keep moviegoers entertained.

"Weekend collections were decent, but considering the budget, it doesn't look good. Though there was a rise in the collections every day, it fell significantly on Monday. The figures nosedived. You expect a 40 to 50 per cent drop, but not this much. To recover money, the film will face an uphill task," trade analyst Amod Mehra said, according to Hindustan Times.

Whether "Satyagraha" will become a hit or a flop depends on how the upcoming films affect its collections. The political drama needs to hold a strong position at box office to earn more than ₹75 crore.

Prakash Jha's other film, "Raajneeti", starring Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif has managed to cross ₹90 crore in its theatrical run. Now, it remains to be seen whether "Satyagraha" will touch that mark at the box office as well.
