Romantic film "Raanjhanaa" has finally crossed the ₹50 crore mark in its second week at the domestic box office.

The film's collections were not affected by last week's release "Ghanchakkar". The romantic film starring Sonam Kapoor and Dhanush has maintained a rock steady position in India.

According to reports, the film earned around ₹17.50 crore in its second week. Adding the first week collection, which is ₹35 crore, the two-week total of the film stands at ₹52.5 crore.

"#Raanjhanaa - 2nd Week: Mon ₹1.90 cr, Tue ₹1.80 cr. Total: ₹49.33 cr nett. Holding very well on weekdays," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.

"#Raanjhanaa collected ₹10.70 cr nett in Weekend 2. Grand total: ₹45.63 cr nett. Breakup for Wknd 2:- Fri ₹2.35 cr, Sat ₹3.65 cr, Sun ₹4.70 cr," Adarsh tweeted.

"Raanjhanaa" has surpassed the domestic collections record of "Kai Po Che" and Ajay Devgn starrer "Himmatwala", which stood at ₹48 crore and ₹47 crore, respectively.

However, the film failed to break the record of blockbuster film "Aashiqui 2" which raked in ₹54.5 crore in 14 days.

The film's business would be affected slightly with the release of romantic flick "Lootera" which stars Sonakshi Sinha and Ranveer Singh. "Lootera" has received rave reviews from critics and is expected to become a major box office hit. [Read the critics review here]

"Raanjhanaa" is expected to take its lifetime collections business to ₹60 crore - ₹65 crore.

Meanwhile, the Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC) in Pakistan has banned the film saying it projects a Muslim girl (Zoya played by Sonam), who falls in love with Tamil priest's son, in an inappropriate manner. [Read the report here]
