The 61st edition of the "Miss World" pageant is scheduled to take place at the Earls Court Two in London, on November 6, 2011. India will be represented by Kanishtha Dhankhar, the "Pantaloons Femina Miss India World 2011".
"I realise that the entire country is now looking up to me to bag this coveted Miss World crown. Post-Priyanka Chopra in the year 2000, no Indian girl has won the title and I am looking forward to bag it," said the 22-year-old Mumbai girl, who describes herself as "a determined goal seeker (and a) honest, respectful and vivacious individual who believes in living life to the fullest".
The first Indian to win the Miss World crown was Reita Faria Powell in 1966. Since then, three Indians have won the "Miss World" title - Aishwarya Rai in 1994, Yukta Mokhey in 1999 and Priyanka Chopra in 2000.
