Tamil superstar Rajinikanth who recently commenced the dubbing of his upcoming movie "Kochadaiyaan" has left Oscar-winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty surprised with his pace of dubbing.

The 62-year-old actor has finished the first half of the dubbing of "Kochadaiyaan" in just one day.

"Rajini sir began dubbing for the film yesterday (Wednesday). He has already completed the first half and is likely to complete the rest in a day or two," a source close to the film's unit told IANS.

Pookutty who is currently working with Rajinikanth for the dubbing of the movie praised the actor for his commitment to work.

"It's unbelievable his dedication and commitment to work, he finished the first half dub Ina day?!" Pookutty tweeted.

"Now I understand why Rajinikanth is a super star..!!!!"

Directed by Rajinikanth's daughter Soundarya, "Kochadaiyaan" is India's first motion-capture film that is made in the likes of Hollywood movies such as "Avatar" and "The Adventure of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn". The movie is expected to hit the screens by July this year.

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone will be playing the female lead opposite Rajinikanth in "Kochadaiyaan". Rajinikanth is said to be playing a double role in the film which is based on Pandya king Kochadaiyaan Ranadheeran.

The much-hyped film also stars R Sarath Kumar, Aadi Pinisetty, Shobana, Rukmini Vijayakumar, Jackie Shroff and Nasser. The film is co-produced by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment. Its soundtrack is composed by music maestro AR Rahman.

According to reports, the "Kochadaiyaan" crew is busy with the post-production work in China. Recently, the Telugu and US rights of "Kochadaiyaan" were sold.
