The sixth installment of Hollywood film "Fast & Furious" is doing exceptionally well at the Indian box office.

The turbo-charged street racing flick in just five days earned a whopping amount of around ₹31.25 crore from 1200 screens in India.

The day-wise breakup of the film is: Thursday previews ₹1.85 crore, Friday ₹6.02 crore, Saturday ₹6.63 crore, Sunday ₹7.05 crore, Monday ₹3.85 crore, Tuesday ₹3.22 crore and Wednesday approximately₹ 2.90 crore.

The film has surpassed the lifetime business of "Fast and Furious 5" which in total collected approximately ₹23 crore from Indian screens.

The Justin Lin-directed film features Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Sung Kang, Chris Bridges, Luke Evans, Gina Carano, and John Ortiz in lead roles.

The action film had started with a bang in India, giving tough competition to Bollywood releases - "Ishkq In Paris", "Hum Hai Raahi CAR Ke" and "Zindagi 50:50" particularly over the weekend.

The film was released in three additional languages - Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, and is getting fantastic response. "It just shows that Indian movie goers are as enthusiastic as their counterparts, and the Indian appetite for Hollywood films is growing," Vivek Rangachari, director, DAR Film Distributors Pvt Ltd, told The Times of India.

"Fast and Furious 6" is expected to round up the first week collections at ₹33-₹34 crore. The collections might go down in second week due to the release of the much awaited film "Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani" which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.
