The worldwide box office collection of Salman Khan starrer "Dabangg 2" is nearing the ₹200 crore mark in spite of not so impressive collections in the second week.
Directed by Arbaaz Khan and featuring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles, "Dabangg 2"was released on Dec 21 across 3,500 screens in India and 450 screens abroad, collecting ₹21.10 crore on the opening day itself.
Populat trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh revealed that the worldwide collection of the film has touched ₹189 crore.
"#Dabangg2 Overseas 2-week total $ 8.3 million [Rs 45.6 cr]. Super Hit," Taran tweeted, adding, "#Dabangg2 *2-week total* India Rs 144 cr + Overseas Rs 45.6 cr. Total: Rs 189.6 cr."
The film earned a whopping ₹106.78 crore in the first week, beating Aamir Khan's "Talaash" and Shah Rukh Khan's "Jab Tak Hai Jaan" at the box office but its collection in the second week dipped drastically in spite of no new releases.
"Dabangg 2" is the sequel to 2010 blockbuster "Dabangg". The film also features Vinod Khanna, Arbaaz Khan, Prakash Raj, Deepak Dobriyal, Sandeepa Dhar and Nikitan Dheer in supporting roles.
