It has been over three weeks since "Chennai Express" was released. But the buzz about Shah Rukh Khan-starrer doesn't seem to cease.

"Chennai Express" has been creating new records with almost every passing week. The action-comedy entertainer, declared as an all-time blockbuster, has reportedly grossed ₹400 crore at the worldwide box office.

It was Aamir Khan who started the unprecedented trend of the ₹100-crore mark with his 2008-blockbuster film "Ghajini". Later, he broke his own record and started the ₹200-crore club (at the domestic box office) and ₹300 crore club (worldwide collections) with his 2009-release "3 Idiots".

It is now Shah Rukh Khan's turn to start a new club - ₹400-crore club (worldwide collections). SRK's latest release "Chennai Express" has already smashed the record created by "3 Idiots" and became the biggest grosser of Hindi cinema at the domestic box office.

It seems that SRK's film has earned ₹401.00 crore at the worldwide box office. According to Box Office Capsule, "Chennai Express" earned ₹333.82 crore worldwide and its gross collections are pegged at ₹401 crore.

A tweet from Box Office Capsule read, "#BOCapsule @iamsrk starrer @ChennaiExp2013 is now officially ₹400 cr grosser #CEgrosses400cr."

The website stated that "Chennai Express" is the first ever Bollywood film to gross ₹400 crore worldwide in just 24 days.

Earlier, it was reported that SRK's film has crossed the worldwide lifetime collections of "3 Idiots". Aamir's film was the biggest grosser at the worldwide box office earning $25 million overseas. "Chennai Express" made $17.30 million from international circuits. "Chennai Express" overseas collections fall way behind "3 Idiots" although the dollar rate was more lower in 2009 (47) than in 2013 (63). However, the total gross collection of "Chennai Express" (₹399 crore till last week) is more than "3 Idiots", which made ₹386 crore, according to Koimoi.

Despite new releases, SRK's film has performed decent business at the domestic as well as overseas markets in its fourth week. With the film grossing ₹400 crore worldwide, it has set a new benchmark. One needs to wait and watch if new releases - "Krrish 3", "Dhoom 3", "Mental" and "Boss", will be able to break "Chennai Express" records.
